At the main entrance of the Shipping Museum is a small shop where visitors can purchase the monographic publications and the Journal Itsas Memoria. Revista de Estudios Marítimos del País Vasco published by the Museum itself.
Inshore fishermen usually kept a “water dog” on board. These intelligent dogs were excellent swimmers, and would help the fishermen by leaping into the water to catch any fish that managed to slip the hook.
The Shipping Museum sells ceramic figures depicting these dogs with a fish in their mouths.
Issue nº 6 of Itsas Memoria. Revista de Estudios Marítimos del País Vasco contains an article on these animals:
Handmade ceramic lighthouses in a variety of models.
Silver-plated pin in the shape of a northern right whale..
Coloured pencils, charcoal sticks, erasers, etc.
This poster of the Untzi Museoa-Naval Museum is a photography of the "Clotilde" steam boat, from Lekeitio (Bizkaia-Vizcaya), in 1917 at Donostia-San Sebastian port,..
