Documentation Centre

The Shipping Museum has documentation centre specialising in maritime topics, particularly concerned with the Basque Country. Its resources are available to anyone interested in consulting them. Access is free of charge, though a prior appointment must be made.

The library holds more than 5000 volumes in the following sections: shipbuilding, training, fishing, ports, navigation, underwater archaeology, etc. The library catalogue can be consulted via GOL (“A Library for Gipuzkoa”)

The archives of the museum are currently being digitised to ensure their conservation and to facilitate access and consultation by the public. The documents already digitised can be consulted via Dokuklik

Sundays and public holidays:

16.00 - 19.00 (from 15th of june to 15th of september)

December 24 and 31:
10:00 - 14:00

Closed on Mondays. Closed January 1, 6 and 20, and December 25.
